PGY 3 -- Urology 1
The PGY 3 Urology junior resident rotates between the adult Urology
service at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, and
Cooper Medical Center at Camden, New Jersey.
Each rotation lasts 3 months. The Cooper rotation provides exposure to male infertility under the
direction of Dr. Joel Marmar. Dr. Marmar is immediate Past President of the Society of Male Reproduction
and Urology. He has been a board member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine. He is currently
on the executive counsel of the American Society of Andrology. Dr. Marmar is on the editorial board of
International Journal of Fertility and he reviews articles for peer review journals including Urology,
Fertility and Sterility, Human Reproduction, and the Journal of Andrology. The PGY 3 RWJ rotation is
heavily focused on diagnosis, preoperative evaluation, care and management of patients with urologic
malignancies. The PGY 3 is expected to become proficient at flexible and rigid cystoscopy, trans-rectal
ultrasound and prostate biopsy, scrotal surgery, non complex ureteroscopy, and other minor surgical
procedures that are appropriate for the junior resident level of training.
