Residency Training in Urology

The broad long-term goals for The Division of Urology Residency Training Program are to provide residents with a wide breadth of experience managing medical and surgical disease of the genitourinary tract as well as an in depth understanding of basic and clinical research in all domains of Urology. We provide a graded increase in patient care responsibility. By the chief year residents are expected to have mastered the ACGME competencies (patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, and interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism and systems-based practice) and have acquired the surgical and mental skills necessary for pursuit of either a career in academic urology or the practice of urology.

We accept two residents per year into a six-year program. Our main goal is to provide a nurturing environment in which residents can acquire the surgical, medical, research, and decision making skills to become outstanding urologists. The resident responsibilities are as follows:
